Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II hosted 117 successful vocational scheme applicants, today July 2nd, 2023.
The scheme aims to provide comprehensive training and subsequently empower committed and dedicated participants who will meticulously acquire the necessary skills to excel in their chosen vocations during the training.
The applicants, who were selected through a merit-based process, represent various communities within Ikorodu Constituency II, covering Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Imota, and Ijede LCDA.
The committees saddled with the screening and selection responsibilities ensured a fair and transparent process, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates were chosen.
As part of the vocational scheme, Barr. SOK Shillings, a renowned legal practitioner, served as the guest speaker; during his speech, he emphasized the importance of vocational skills and highlighted their role in personal and professional development.
Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, in his address, shared his personal success story, attributing his prosperity to the acquisition of vocational skills.
The committee members announced that the training would be competitive, with 60 successful trainees out of the 117 applicants will be selected for empowerment.
The candidates will receive all the necessary equipment to kick-start their respective vocations.
Each of the three LCDA areas, Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Imota, and Ijede, will have 20 beneficiaries, ensuring an equitable distribution of resources and opportunities.
The applicants and constituents in attendance expressed their admiration for Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro and commended him for fulfilling his promises to the electorate; despite not having officially resumed office since the inauguration of the Lagos State 10th Assembly, he has taken proactive steps to address the needs of the community through initiatives like the vocational scheme.
